Hey guys, I was thinking of doing the
comp in Oct but I think it will be too difficult to plan
this year as I am still in France. We will run another for
2010 though, no worries there. Anyone wanting to train with
the equipment before it gets too cold is welcome to it,
just so long as everything gets put back when you're finished.
Sorry to all those wanting to compete this year. Good luck
with your training!

Hey everyone, the competition was a success
yet again, thank you all that helped out!
This year I have been able to upload the entire competition
onto youtube as they changed their max upload size, making
it possible.
I think that I will be eliminating the forum since it remains
inactive. I have added a store link where you can buy one
of our silk screened t-shirts and a high quality DVD of
the last event.
See you all next year!

Planning for this years competition is
well under way. I think that we will have a good one to
look forward to this year!
Sun. May 10th 2007
The site has been updated to include
a short video of last years event. Special thanks to Andy
Tse who edited the footage we had. We are preparing for
another exciting competition this year, all those interested
should email me as space will be limited!
Fri. Sept. 7th 2007
The competition was a great success this
year and we saw some of the finest competitors yet. Thanks
everyone for coming out. I have updated the pictures on
this site so that you will find pics of this years event.
I have tried to include a pic of everyone but if I have
left you out by accident let me know. I am hoping to get
some video up soon.
As for the score sheets, I was hoping to print out all of
the scores but unfortunately the sheets are unreadable due
to how wet they got in the rain. I do have the final totals
though and that I will put them under the competition reports
section on the forum of this site.
If anyone wants to train with the equipment during the fall
just let me know, otherwise see you next summer!
Thanks.

I made some modifications to the forum
so that now you can imbed video into the pages easily. Just
put the URL of any You Tube video in between pushing the
You tube button (not the embed tag they give you, use the
real URL).

Two great articles have been submitted
by Josh Hewett.
Since most of the work on the site is done I will be looking
for sponsors now.
Wed, Mar. 7th, 2007
I have added a new link on the links
page. I added an articles page where you will be able to
access articles about how to get started in strongman competitions.
Also I am pleased to announce that the forum is now operational.
Hopefully this will be a good place to exchange ideas. Several
contestants have confirmed that they will be entering the
competition this year.
Tues, Mar. 2nd, 2007
Please note that I have moved the competition
date to the 25th of August. Also I just added the store
link in the menu. It has lots of products for those interested
in building strength.
Mon, Feb. 12th, 2007
Planning for this years competition is
underway. I've given the site a new look; this has been
long over due. I will be adding a forum some time within
the next month. That way you will be able to access lots
of great information on training for strongman competitions
and strength training!

Please note that we are moving the competition
back to Wards island.
Sunday, July 9th, 2006
Everything is underway for the event
this year; it is scheduled for Saturday August the 19th
and is happening on Center Island this time as opposed to
Wards, where it usually happens. The event will be free
and there will be a beer garden and a catering tent set
up.

Hello everyone! Well, the competition
is only a week away and things are looking as though it
will be even more rowdy than last years! With our guest
performers and sponsors giving us a hand the possibility
of this years event being spectacular is huge! A word of
warning though: buy your boat ticket in advance, the day
that the event is scheduled for is also the day of Caribana
which means their could be a long line up. Remember the
event is FREE, and all are welcome to compete, including
women (no chauvinist, we!). I look forward to seeing you
all there!

Monday, June 25, 2001:
My brother Robert Dales has written
a letter concerning the Island's Strongest Man Competition
interested? Then read on:
Rob's Letter
This year marks that of the first annual Island Strong Man
Competition. The artists and competitors involved will surely
make this event so spectacular that the spectators there
to view will not be able to bat one eyelash for the duration
of the entire event. The competitors are surely the mightiest
of men that I know and the action that will spark in between
them competitively holds the potential to light all of our
torches.
I would like to thank all of the members of the organization
that helped to make the event ready on scheduled time.
Check back on the web site regularly for new postings etc.
Monster factory, Adam Dunn, Kalley, and Andy will be shooting
footage of the events taking place so as to be posted post-strong
man competition. The musical guest of this years event is
John Coy whose music I can best describe as prophetic landscape
painting in the medium of synth and notes. He has told me
that he will bring a tape recorder, mic and friend who can
play bass. The commercial which every one whose seen it
prizes was made by monster factory: Adam Dunn and Kayley
the guy on frame is Gaven Fox.

Following modifications to the web site
have been made:
1. Fix "where and when link"
(was reported broken, but nothing was wrong, so I suppose
I fixed it...?)
2. Post Rob Dales' bio
3. Add contestants names to the bio section
4. Subscribed to a banner service so that you will soon
be able to support this web site (not yet though, have to
wait some days before they send us the membership confirmation
note)
5. Meta Tags have been put up so that I will now go around
the web looking for search engines and post them to attract
more people to this web site.
6. Post Rob's letter (as seen above)
7. Make commercial windows nice size for user.
8. Put titles/headings on all the web pages.
9. Post in the news that I did all this stuff.
